Methodology

How this calculation works

This is a simple, transparent model: it does not invent a response-time curve. You enter the two close rates you actually see — fast and late — and the share of leads that are late. The gap between them, multiplied by deal value, is the monthly cost of slow follow-up.

Lost revenue = (Leads × fast close rate × deal value) − (Leads × blended close rate × deal value), where blended rate weights fast and slow leads by their share.
What to do next

Turn the number into a decision

  • ▸If you do not know your two close rates, start with 20% fast and 8% late, then replace them with real numbers.
  • ▸The fix is usually not more leads, it is an instant first response by SMS and email, then a booking link.
  • ▸A follow-up agent, like the one in the Agent Console on the home page, is built for exactly this gap.

Questions about this calculation

By the time a slow reply arrives, the lead has often contacted a competitor, lost interest, or solved the problem another way. Speed to lead is about being first, not just being polite.

An instant automated acknowledgement plus a booking link, followed by a real reply. A reply the next day is already late for most service businesses.

Split last month's leads by reply time in your CRM or inbox, then divide closed deals by leads in each group. Even a rough split gives a useful estimate.

No. It recovers the leads that were lost only to delay. Leads that were never a fit will still not close, which is why the calculator uses your real close rates.
